How quickly does Technovit LC Xpress cure?
Polymerization takes 90 seconds in the Technotray POWER LED.
Are other light sources possible?
It is also possible to use the Technotray POWER tube unit, but in this case 2 blue light tubes must be replaced by LEDs.
Is Technovit LC Xpress vacuum-compatible?
Technovit LC Xpress can be vacuum infiltrated before polymerization. This is particularly advantageous for complex components or porous samples to prevent air from escaping during polymerization and causing bubbles to form.
How do I avoid air inclusions under the sample?
It makes sense to first pour approx. 2 mm of Technovit LC Xpress into the embedding mold and then position the sample in it, then fill the embedding mold completely and polymerize.
Which molds are suitable?
Translucent embeding molds must always be used; Kulzer PE or silicone molds are perfectly suited to this.
Is gap-free embeding possible?
Technovit LC Xpress has a very low gap formation, which is completely sufficient for a large number of applications. If areas are to be embedded completely gap-free, the first step should be to wet the contact surface of the material samples with a thin layer of embedding resin, polymerize this first, then position the sample in the embedding mold, pour on the embedding resin and polymerize again.
Is Technovit LC Xpress dangerous for the user?
Technovit LC Xpress is made from modern raw materials that are also used in dentistry. These raw materials are relatively harmless, but must nevertheless be labelled with the ‘Warning’ symbol in accordance with REACH. The measures described in the safety data sheet should be observed.
For which application is the system suitable?
The use of the Technovit LC Xpress system is particularly advantageous for users who prefer or require rapid embedding. Due to the capacity of the specimen chamber of the Technotray POWER LED, specimens for a complete specimen holder can be created in 90 seconds. There are virtually no exceptions as far as the type of materials are concerned, so the system can be used very universally.
Samples are very temperature-sensitive, is that a problem?
The heat generated during polymerization is < 100 °C, the maximum temperature is only reached for a short time. For very sensitive samples, it is possible to polymerize Technovit LC Xpress in thin layers. Rule of thumb here: the less resin is reacted, the less heat is generated.
